LUBU 'Surface'

Naarm/Melbourne producer LUBU returns to OBSCUUR with Surface, a four-track statement of groove-led, chord-rich techno. The record leans into the traits that define his sound: rolling percussion, dub-soaked depth, UK-club bite, and a warm emotional pull shaped by years behind the DAW and the dance floor.

“RYU” opens with a taut, percussive workout and rising chord pressure. “VILGO” rides a nimble bassline and bright, glassy stabs. “Petrol Dub” drops the lights for a head-down, low-end churn with hazy echoes, while “401(k)” snaps back with a bouncier, UK-leaning swing built for peak hours.

Across Australia and abroad, LUBU’s records have cut through for their weight, movement and atmosphere, drawing on 90s foundations, dub textures, jungle pressure and UKG flex while keeping focus on the dance floor.
